A frequent frustration in digital production is getting the content—both text and editorial images/other art—that has to be in place to develop and launch a product. Whether your client is internal to your company or you are a contractor working as a freelancer or in an agency, content is often the stumbling block. It is late, incomplete, subject to endless revision or review cycles, or just plain missing in action.
In this session, June Chang, a graphic designer with both in-house and freelance web clients, and Arthur Smith, a digital producer who works with content-heavy websites for educational audiences share their experiences and some hard-won wisdom and suggestions for communicating with clients, and helping them help themselves and you. There will also be a chance for audience members to share their own tips for improving communication and content practices with clients.
